First Aid, CPR and AED

Course Description

This class is for students who wish to become certified in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This hands-on skills training prepares students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. It also teaches the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator.

We believe basic first aid, CPR, and AED training is vital to the concealed carry holder, firearm owner, or anyone who wants to have skills for self-care and care of family and loved ones. This class will certify students in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED. Students will also participate in scenario based training, to better prepare them for real world medical emergencies. Gunshot wounds, penetrating and knife wounds, and other trauma will be covered extensively, including the use of tourniquets, pressure bandages, and hemostatics. You owe it to yourself and your family to take this class! The student will take home manuals and basic first aid equipment.

Skills covered in this course include first aid basics; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; medical Injuries and emergencies; use of an epinephrine pen; control bleeding and bandaging; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. Also, students will learn how to keep someone alive and stable enough until EMS arrives. Each student will demonstrate how to deal with each injury by practicing hands-on skills throughout the course as well as scenario based training sessions.
